Field Tech
Introduction

A Field Tech is an employee who has a strong understanding of how to use lawn care equipment effectively and what is required to maintain a client’s yard.

Job Description and Purpose

A Field Tech’s primary purpose and job here is to aid their Crew Leader in completing their tasks as effectively and efficiently as possible. They maintain a supporting role and are well-versed in the service they are providing.

Initial Skills Required:
  • Using an edger

  • Using a string trimmer

  • Using a blower

  • Using a push mower

  • Using a backpack sprayer to spray weeds

  • Be able to pull weeds and pick-up debris 

Responsibilities:
  • Aiding their Crew Leader in everyday tasks

  • Making sure their team’s vehicle is fully prepared and reporting anything wrong with their equipment and/or their field vehicle

  • Outside of the initial skills required, Field Techs are expected to learn how to use zero-turn and walk-behind mowers in a given amount of time. If they know how to use both going into the position, even better

  • Communicating with everyone, especially their Crew Leader, on important updates or anything related to the company/team

Other Requirements:
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must have consistent transportation

  • Must be open to a background check

  • At a minimum, must hold a documented education level of a high school degree or equivalent (GED)
